A Walk on the Cliff

Just in case you didn't get the reference in the title, it was a play on the book "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson, which is a recount of his journey on the Appalachian Trail.

I didn't quite do the Appalachian Trail today, but I did go to Thatcher Park. Somehow Fitz, Justin and I ended up walking off the beaten path, only to return about two hours later, exhausted and me soaking wet. I'll let the pictures do the talking, it's late.

Corn Husks, later: Grilled Corn on the Cob. Yum.

Just what it says.

Justin ignoring the sign.

The boys exploring a creepy cave and claustrophobic me taking the photo.

We climbed a good deal to get up here, and had to leave the trail. As a sign later told us, this is phrohibited. Oops...

Fitz and I getting cuddly on the forbidden cliff. Muy romantic.

Boys doing a rain dance in yet another forbidden location, by the waterfall.

Fitz and I face to face before Justin figured out how to focus my camera.

Justin and I showering in the falls.

Waterfall number two. This one was too steep, so we couldn't get in close.

That took forever. Bedtime!
